ETH Medal 2020
Congratulations to Marius Hodel for his Master thesis work on "Identification and characterization of long terminal repeat retrotransposons in Lolium multiflorum”!
We are happy to announce that Marius Hodel’s Master thesis won the ETH Medal 2020. Marius developed his project during the spring semester 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Dario Copetti and Prof. Bruno Studer. After establishing an efficient and transferrable pipeline to detect LTR retrotransposons, Marius analyzed their features, describing the properties of this dominant component of the Italian ryegrass genome. The Molecular Plant Breeding group congratulates Marius and wants to express its appreciation for Marius’ dedication to the project and his active participation to the group’s activities.
